1. Briefly summarize the six steps of the ASSURE model.

2. Describe how you could (or do) apply each of the steps in your own
instructional setting.

  1. Analyze learners focuses on significant information on the class as a whole. The instructor should be able to describe of the learning styles of the individual members of the class.
State objectives: Are simple statements that tell what the learners will be able to do at the end of the lesson. The objectives should focus on the learner rather that the teacher or instructor.
Select, modify, design at this stage the teacher shows the connection between the student and the objective. It must also shows the methods or strategies and materials that will be appropriate.
Utilize methods media and materials: It is a description on which media you will use to meet the objectives and how it will be implemented.
Required learner participation Steps you will be using to get each person involved in the lesson. In doing so we must also keep in mind that we need to keep the learners actively involved.
Evaluate and revised Evaluating and revision is very important to see if the instructions we used were effective.

  2. 1) The six steps of the ASSURE MODEL
    a) Analyze learners this step deals with the teacher getting to know the learner their charcters, learning style, behavior.(I could use this to get to know students that I 'm unfamiliar with their learning styles how to approach this child with content)
b)State objectives this is where the teacher clearly state learning outcomes and Goals of the present lesson also the different conditions of performance.(I would use this to let my students be familiar with what the will and should learn by the end of the lesson instead of just teaching with now objective )
    c) Select Methods, Media and Materials this step is where the teacher Select available materials, Modify existing materials, Design new materials, and decide what media will be useful to get the content of the lesson across to the students.(I would use media and different material based on the analysis of the learners that would decide the best way in approaching the child their learning style audio, auditory ,visual etc by reviewing this Ii would know which media and material I would select for the lesson) 1 would use projectors in my learning enviroment.
    d) Utilize Media and Materials Once selected, the media needs to be created and utilized. It is important to preview all materials before assigning them to students. This step could be used as an opportunity to conduct instruction as a pilot or a test run. Test the materials to make sure they are appropriate and make adjustments before presented the materials to students.
    e) Require Learner Participation includes discussion, small group learning and testing or assessment. It is important to allow for frequent feedback on the students' performance and many opportunities to practice what they have learned to ensure the concept thought has been grasped .
    f) Evaluate and Revise This is where the teacher find out whether the concept was taught ,if the materials work in delivering the concept, the students attitudes towards the enviroment, was the lessons objectives met.

  3. The six steps of the assure model
    - Analyze learners where teacher observe and identify the student learning best learning style.
-State objectives where the teacher state his/her specific learning outcomes.
    - Select methods, media and materials this step is where the teacher choose the most appropriate means to teach the lesson.
    - Utilize media and materials where the choice media which is selected should be effectively use in the lesson.
    - Require learner participation includes discussion, small group learning and testing or assessment. This is important because children share idea and children can assist each others while in small group activities.
    - Evaluate and revise where the teacher make conscious evaluation to see if the goals where achieved.
I could use the step of analyze learning in my classroom where you can plan lesson to suit your students best learning style. Having objectives in your lesson is very important because a lesson without an objective useless. There has to be a point which you the teacher want the student to learn.in nowadays there a various media which a teacher can use to teacher her lesson the days of chalk talk have over played it time especially that technology now comes in different forms and ways.from studies it have shown that children learn more from their pairs in interactive way so this form of learner participation is necessary in the classroom. A teacher must evaluate and revise to verify what his/ her students have gasp or where more teaching is required in a particular lesson. All six steps are necessary for an effective teacher in catering for his/ her students needs.

  4. The six steps of Assure of learning are Analyze learners: this where the teacher will her students who are are the slow and fast learner which he or she can plan his/her lesson to their level.
.State Objectives Focus on the learner, their behaviors and Objectives they gave them to learn which includes the Audience, Behavior, Condition, Degree, design Methods, Media, & Materials. The teacher will Utilize Methods, Media, & Materials to plan the lesson so they will be able to learn to their maximum potential and their Require Learner and do Participation. After the lesson the teacher will then able to evaluate and revise to see if the students get the information by evaluated their weakness and strength on the lesson.

  8. @Jacklyn Sanchez, I agree with you that this model is best for when designing lesson plans. Each teacher should know their students learning style and accommodate for their different styles by the type of method, materials and media use to fulfill the lesson objectives. Teachers should always have in mind that each child is different and they must find different ways to ensure learning takes place.

  9. The six steps of the ASSURE model is composed as an acronym used as a guide for planning and delivering instructions that integrates technology and media in the teaching process. The description and explanation of each step are as follows:
Analyze the learners generally as a class, at individual skill levels and also at individual learning styles.
State your objectives to project what you expect your learners to be able to perform/demonstrate at the end of the instruction. Objectives are written using the ABCD format.
Know your Audience/ learners for whom the lesson is prepared
Behaviour – what is expected of them to do
Under what Condition/circumstance you want them to do it
Degree /extent to which you want them to do it
Select media and material - decide on the method of instruction, choose the media format that is appropriate for the method and select, modify, update or design materials for the instruction.
Utilize methods, media and materials- plan and describe how you are going to implement selected media, materials and methods into the lesson to meet objectives.
Require learner participation- enable learners to become actively and individually involved in the lesson through manipulation of information and practice of skill.
Evaluate and revise learners’ performance, media component(s) and instructor’s performance. Ask to what effect were the intended uses met.

As with any instructional setting, in schools the first two steps of the model are a must. As a teacher we need to know where our students are in order to know what objectives/goals to set and where to take them next. Now when it comes to the third step, it would be very beneficial to me to be able to align method, media and materials and having a clear layout of how to help my students meet the expectations. This will then lead to the students becoming actively involved in the lesson as there will be more student interest and meaningful experiences. Of course we have to evaluate everything we do. This time I’ll be looking also at the use of the media and its effectiveness in the lesson and how it can be used in the future.

  10. The ASSURE Model

The ASSURE Model of learning helps teachers to become more involved in how to plan lessons that best suits each student in classroom. The six steps are:

 Analyze: A teacher should get to know basic information about the students and his academic performance in school. We can do this in the first two weeks of class and also by providing a pre-test to the students. By doing so the teacher can know at what level the student is and the students can get an insight of what to expect for the school year.
 State Objectives: When writing the objectives one should include the ABCD; Audience (specific student(s)), Behavior which is what the students should do, Condition or under what circumstances the students should work it includes the materials and references, Degree which is at what level should the students work or how much they should at least know. Using the ABCD helps teachers to write objectives that are manageable for them and especially the students.
 Select, modify, design Methods and Materials: in this step the teacher should decide if she will have the students work in groups, individually etc. It includes the materials and teaching strategy that best suits the audience for which it is intended. The teacher should ensure that the materials are in good condition and safe for the audience to work with. In this step one should also include the criteria or state how the students will be graded.
 Lastly Evaluate and Revise: How or what method will the teacher use to ensure that the students understood the material presented to them. The teacher should also self-evaluate the lesson to see if all objectives were met or how she could have make the lesson better.

  11. I agree with Jacklyn all three steps are very important for a effective class. the teacher need to cater for all his/her students needs to ensure that each student learn.

  12. @ Jacklyn Sanchez, I do agree that a lesson without objectives (or proper ones at that) is useless. We need to know what it is exactly that we want our students to learn. According to Vygotsky less competent children learn from from their more skillful peers in cooperative learning exercises provided by the teacher (1978). Indeed the old way of teaching is no longer effective. Teachers need to utilize all means necessary to get across necessary information to the children in their care. As stated by Piaget, children construct their own learning from meaningful experiences and making the link back to previous ones(1896). If we always evaluate to reflect back on our lessons it will be beneficial to both us and the students. It will allow us to know where we are and what we need to do next. As you mentioned also, all six steps are important for an effective lesson.

  13. @ Nigel Matura it is always good to inform our students of what it is that we want them to achieve. Equally important is learning about them individually and what media, material and method reaches them best. I like the idea of giving the items a test run before using them. That way we are guaranteed that what we used will do the jobs we intend them to.

  14. The Assure Model is a set of guidelines used in a educational setting to plan, design methods appealing to the learning style of individuals and using those methods to deliver information as effective as possible.
Analyze Learners: A quick look at the general background of the class in a whole and through individual approach, retrieve information generally by looking at their socio economic status and intellectual level to plan the best method to offer instruction.
State Objectives: Objectives are determined audience, their behaviour, under what condition the individuals learn best, and the degree of their performance that is accetable.
Select, Modify, Design Methods, Media, and Materials: It includes a general overview of how the teacher will efficiently, yet effective, prepare materials for every class session while meeting criteria, learning styles and practical approaches that are not subjective in any way,
Utilize Methods, Media, and Materials: Use effectively the methods designed, media, and materials gathered. Plan strategically and ensure the quality of each information.
Require Learner Participation: Demand participation through “enjoyable” exercises and practical approaches that learners can relate to.
Evaluate and Revise: Revue the outcome of entire sessions and come up with other strategies to fill any loophole found.

  19. @Nigel Matura The Assure Model is an incredible technique to plan effective lessons using the media as a main source. This model has a framework that guarantees learners to be actively participating in their own learning and interacting with their classmates. The Assure Model also recognizes the different learning styles of all students and tends to each need. So am sure this model can be very useful in lesson planning especially for new teachers.

  20. @Angela Avila Many of us teachers don't even look at our students needs. So therefore you are right when it comes to that. We need to look at our students observe them thus giving us as teacher what strategies we must use in order for them to learn. now when it comes to the modern day technology, some of it is distracting to the students in the regular classroom. yes it will enhance their learning but we need to know how and when to use these different technology within our classroom

  22. Assure Model
    - Analyze learners where teacher identify the student learning style.-State objectives where the teacher states his/her specific short term goal which should be achieved in the lesson.- Select methods, media and materials the teacher chooses the best way to teach the lesson. - Utilize media and materials where the choice media to teach the lesson. - Require learner participation discussion, small group learning and testing or assessment. - Evaluate and revise where the teacher make conscious evaluation to see if the goals where achieved.
Analyze learning where teacher cater for all the students needs. Having objective will guide the teacher to where she want to reach. There are various media which the teacher can use to teach a lesson. Evaluation is very important for a teacher to assets what was covered.

  25. The six steps of the assure model
-a)Analyze learners where teacher learn each student learning style.
-b)State objectives where the teacher state the goals which the student which achieve at the end of the lesson.
    - c)Select methods can come from any form of technology top teach a lesson.
    - d)Utilize media and materials choice media to teach the lesson effectively.
-e) Require learner participation includes small group learning, discussion, and testing. To be interactive in the classroom.
    - f)Evaluate and revise where the teacher make conscious evaluation to see if the goals where achieved.

All six assure model are important in the classroom because an effective call requires effective planning where you must analyze learners learning style to plan lessons which will cater for their leaning style. Set objects must be set in the lesson to show which goal your wish to achieve when teaching. Selected methods can be in the form of video clip. PowerPoint, the computer where learning is taken placed. Participation from the students will help teacher to identify if their lesson is effective and students can assist each others. Evaluation is where you the teacher will assets if the goals were met in the lesson.

  29. The ASSURE MODEL is an essential in the classroom to assist teachers to analyze the children learners learning style and to plan lessons which will assist all the students leaning style. The six steps of the ASSURE Model is:
    • Analyze Learners It involves the teacher getting to know the student learning style on each student in the classroom, the behavior problems the child has and the characters that individual student will bring out in the classroom.
    • State Objective that is clearly when the teacher will announce to the class on the out come and goal of the lesson which will be taught to the students. I would use this procedure to let my students be familiar what should be expected from them at the end of the lesson.
    • Selected Methods Media and Materials is where the teacher modify existing material, design new materials, and decide what media resource would be useful to extract content to the lesson and the to the students. It is any form of technology to just teach a lesson.
    • Utilize Media and Materials as long as it is chosen the media should be created and utilized. It’s essential that the teacher review all materials before issuing to the students. This strategy could be used for conducting instruction as a test to students. The teacher should test the material to make sure it is at the student’s level or just make little adjustment before issuing to the students.
    • Require Learning Participation this involves small group learning and discussion. The teacher should always be willing to get feedback regularly on the performance on the students. Also the teacher should review what they have learnt today in order for the teacher to know learning took place and the students grasp all the information that was being thought.
    • Evaluate and Revise this is where the teacher will asses if the goals where met and achieve in the lesson.
