  1. ABORTION
I establish my stance as being against abortion. Key components that greatly enables the inclination to the ‘against’ side, is inclusive of my perspective and evaluation on such topic; whereas upon analysis it was inferred that the negative effects about abortion, outweighs that of the positive impacts on humans, and society as a whole. The Term ‘abortion’ may be defined as “The intentional termination of pregnancy by killing and expelling an embryo or a foetus. Also, any of various procedures that result in such termination and removal. Also called induced abortion.” (Crisis Pregnancy Center [CPC], 2010) Considering the fragile topic of Abortion, we must focus on key factors in life such as where as an individual, is impacted emotionally, by the trauma that may be experienced during the assassination of a potential human being/offspring. “Having an abortion affects more than just your body or your psychological state—it also affects a human life (the baby) and your relationship with God.” (CPC, 2010)
I give credibility to my sources, Crisis Pregnancy Centers of Greater Phoenix (CPC), in collaboration with Christian Family Care Agency (CFCA), providing that they are governmental organizations that carry out extensive research that are constantly updated, so as to maintain accuracy.

  2. I am for abortion... simply because I believe in pro choice. If a person, couple or whoever it may be does not feel mature or responsible enough to take care of a child then have an abortion if you may think that is the best alternative.
I had an abortion when I was 19 yrs old however, I felt that I was too young and financially unstable to raise a child on my own plus the father of my child ended the relationship after finding out I was pregnant. In addition, I wanted to continue school and felt that by having a child it would deter me from accomplishing my goals and aspirations. Many factors led to me to the decision, but it wasn't an easy one to make. I do not have regret my decision but that's not to say that it wasn't an emotional wreck for quite some time after that experience. Sometimes, wonders "what if..." but knows that it was the best decision at the time given her circumstances (A. Boyd, personal communication, January 25, 2011).

  3. All what Kuo Chen might be true but any one has right to chose whether or not she wants to terminate her pregnancy. Nevertheless, if that person does have some kind of trauma over the experience then time will heal that wound or counselling is available. As with affecting one's relationship with God... remember, He does forgive those who asks for forgiveness.

  5. Abortion is issues that bring to mind, on all elevation, very strong feelings and judgments and very heated recriminations. The most radical formulation of abortion or "pro-life" side of the debate views abortion as the murder of unborn children.
Abortion …..Is not a subject matter of which I stand for or against therefore I will remain unbiased…. to the point of understanding a woman perspective of her choice choosing not to bring forth her child or to bring forth. There are many views on abortion …the most radical formulation of abortion the freedom of women, as abhorrence of women, and as part of a historical effort to "subjugate" women as nothing more than baby-making machines or, failing that, to see that they die in failed abortions.
My concern in this on abortion it is to examine the extent to which arguments used by both sides of this debate are poor to unsound. The common acceptance of bad reasoning as self-evidently true always serves to demonize the opposition and to further radicalize and irrationalize the whole debate, to the benefit of every kind of extremist. While I am personally in the "unbiased ", it is obviously because I am concerned that the cause I favor be honored with the more sensible and cogent arguments of a woman perspective.

  6. I am against abortion because it is wrong to take the life of a unborn child when there are many other solutions that can help you and the child.DR. HYMIE GORDON, Chairman of the Department of Genetics at the Mayo Clinic, said: “By all the criteria of modern molecular biology, life is present from the moment of conception.” and DR. JEROME LEJEUNE, “The Father of Modern Genetics,” said: “Each of us has a very precise starting moment, which is the time at which the whole necessary and sufficient genetic information is gathered inside one cell, the fertilized egg, and this is the moment of fertilization. There is not the slightest doubt about that, and we know that this information is written on a kind of ribbon we call the DNA.” Today most of the women choose to abort simply because the baby is going to interfere with their life or they are simply not ready to become parents. The Bible clearly teaches that abortion is wrong. This teaching comes across in many ways and for many reasons. Some people point out that the word "abortion" is not in the Bible, and that is true. Nevertheless, the teaching about abortion is there. This is the case with many teachings. The word "Trinity" is not in the Bible, but the teaching about the Trinity is there. In any case, a person who wants to deny the teaching about abortion would deny it even if the word were there. The Bible teaches that human life is different from other types of life, because human beings are made in the very image of God,The Bible teaches that children are a blessing,The Bible teaches that the child in the womb is truly a human child, who even has a relationship with the Lord,Scripture repeatedly condemns the killing of the innocent and The Bible teaches that God is a God of justice. No matter what the causes my be everyone has the right to live a happy life and there are always solutions to the problems so why let an abortion scar your life forever?

  9. ABORTION is the termination of a pregnancy by the removal or expulsion of the fetus from the uterus. An estimated 42 million abortions are performed annually with 20 million of those abortions done unsafely. Many girls and women, would say that pregnancy will give them stress, headache, sleepiness, and the list goes on. but in today society, there are lot of ways to avoid pregnancy. From the time, that you have sexual intercourse, make sure that one partner is protected. I don't believe that abortion is the only, and the best solution to this problem. From the time when an egg if fertilized, a new life of a new human begins. girls/ women, who are thinking that abortion is the best way, IT IS NOT.Get some counseling, get good facts. Take it this way, pregnancy is a good feeling in the end. Some girls/ women would wish that they would have the luck of becoming pregnant. The unborn child doesn't have the fault that you don't want to bring them on the earth. In the end, maybe this same child would bring joy to your life. Think it over girls, abortion is no the only way. According to Dr.Rafael Martinez,"life begins at the moment when the egg is fertilized”.

  10. In kadisha's case, i think that the decision that she took, have benefited her because if she had had her baby, probably she wouldn't have been coming to university rite now. Probably she would have been taking care of her baby and working. But i am not saying it is wrong, but that was her choice and her life. Just hope that you had had a great life after all.

  11. i agree with Juan he made a very good point a fetus should not be aborted. many parent, young parent things that have a child will stop them from playing the role they are playing or the gold they want tao achive, but that is not so, A child should be accepted in this world weather it is by a mistake or not it is a gift from above that everyone should be thankful for, whenever, whoever.

  12. I am against abortion. Just this morning, I had a heated argument with one of my co-workers who was talking about pro-choice. I believe that the moment a woman engages in sexual activity she knows that there is a risk of her getting pregnant. If you don't protect yourself--then who will? You are not only opening yourself to getting pregnant but also the risk of contracting a Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI). I have friends who have had abortions and you should see the state they are in. "I hear a baby crying especially in my room. I am always praying for the soul of my baby and for forgiveness for what I did" (A. Lopez, personnal communication, February 1, 2011).
I am very passionate about this topic because if it was up to my child's father, my 16-year-old daughter would not be here. I chose life and thank God I did. I don't regret that decision and believe never will. Children are "Gods gift to us".
I believe many women don't know that an abortion can lead to many complications.
"The main causes are infection, hemorrhage and uterine perforation. Infection in the womb and tubes often does permanent damage. The Fallopian tube is a fragile organ, a very tiny bore tube. If infection injures it, it often seals shut. The typical infection involving these organs is pelvic inflammatory disease(Dr. Wilke, n.d).
From the moment of conception--it is a life.

  13. To each its owen! I Also understand what Kadisha is trying to bring across, It is very hard to deal with a child as a teenager and worst being a single parent, People may look at it in a wrong way or even try to discriminate u because of it, but no one knows how it feels like until u get or if u been in that situation " who feels it knows it" There is 2 sides of a story why and why not to have an abortion, So i her case that is understood!

  14. I found this poem to a mother by an unborn child. It brought tears to my eyes and would love to share.
    "Dear mommy,
I am in heaven now, sitting on Jesus lap.
He loves me and cries with me; for my heart has been broken.
I so wanted to be your little girl.
I don't quite understand what has happened.
I was excited when I began realizing my existence.
I was in a dark, yet comfortable place.
I saw I had fingers and toes.
I was pretty far along in my developing, yet not near ready to leave my surroundings.
I spent most of my time thinking or sleeping.
Even from my earliest days, I felt a special bonding between you and me.
Sometimes I heard you crying and I cried with you, sometimes you would yell or scream, then cry. I heard daddy yelling back.
I was so sad, and hoped you would be better soon. I wondered why you cried so much,
one day you cried almost all of the day.
I hurt for you. I couldn't imagine why you were so unhappy. That same day, the most horrible thing happened. A very mean monster came into that warm, comfortable place I was in.
I was so scared, I began to scream, but there was no sound. I guess they had you all pinned down because you never once tried to help me.
    Maybe you never heard me.
The monster got closer and closer as I was screaming, "mommy, mommy help me, please; mommy, help me." Complete terror is all I felt.
I screamed and screamed until I though I couldn't anymore. Then the monster ripped my leg off. Though I was in such pain, I realized I was dying. I knew I would never see your face or hear you say how much you love me. I wanted to make all tears go away.
I had so many plans to make you happy.
Now I couldn't, all my dreams were shaddered.
Though I was in utter pain and horror, I felt the pain of my heart breaking above all. I wanted more that anything to be your daughter. No use now, for I was dying a painful death.
I could imagine the terrible things they've done to you. I wanted to tell you before I was gone, nut I didn't know the words that you understand. An soon and no longer I had breath to say them; I was dead, I felt myself rising.
I was carried by a huge angel into a big, beautiful place. I was still crying, but the physical pain was gone. the angel took me to Jesus and set me on his lap.
He said he love me, and he was my father.
Then I was happy. I asked him what was the thing that killed me. He answered "abortion" (www.ehealthforum.com).
Hope it touches the heart of those who believe in abortion.

  16. I, Kishana LaCroix, here by states that I am an anti-abortionist. My reason for being against abortion is because the unborn has no knowledge, or no fault for gaining life in the womb of the mother. I know many may say that it depends on the situation that the person may be in; however whether it is rapped or unwanted pregnancy the fact still remains that abortion in such circumstance is not a solution. Abortion is like you don’t care about life and personally that is a statement to God that you don’t care for His plan for that unburned child. I always sit and consider if I was that baby and knew what my mother was doing to me , I would scream with every strength in my poor small helpless body and hope she would hear me and don’t take my life away. I have a friend that has done abortion twice and many times she keeps on telling me she regretful and that almost every night she feels like the baby is next to her and is hearing the baby crying. As Righteous (2010) concluded “abortion is a sin and that makes you anti-life.”(p.32). you shall not commit murder, this is the sixth commandment("commandments,"n.d,para.20:13).This commandment was created by God to state that every life He creates has a purpose and that it don’t matter whether the individual was rapped etc. but God love them still.

  17. I loved the fact that Paula had the courage to stand strong and never gave in to abortion. To many others who are in that position as Paula was, keep your head up and take Paula as a role model because she put the life of her child before abortion.i also like that fact that paula has medical status and the information is really good.

  18. i agree with Kuo-chen and with Kadisha when she asys God forgives However that is why God also said to use wisdom and most of all to keep faith taht he will guide yuou in all ways and would never lead you down that wrong path. I am not being judgemental; however God keeps your mind focus ,calm and still as long as you trust and have faith. He will reveal positive ways in things that we believe are negatively affecting Us. God has great plans in store for both the mother and the child.

  19. Abortion: I’m highly against abortion for the reason as such, a man and a woman knows that when they are engaging in sex that they should know the proper reason of doing such thing rather than just be freely be doing so. Having a child is basically a gift of life and a gift of GOD, and taking away that gift means taking away a future. That’s why men came up with many type of protections to prevent females from getting pregnant, and having sex without those protections basically means that your intended to have a child. Teenage pregnancy is a common thing now a day, and yet teenage abortion is too, so when they are doing such thing, they are not only hurting the one that they have lost but indeed hurting themselves. Stated by a Registered Nurse, “90% of abortions are done in the first trimester. However, a late abortion frequently requires a material called laminaria to dilate the cervix. This makes the passage large enough to allow a suction tube to be inserted. The laminaria could weaken the cervix and conceivably cause infertility. (Camilla Cracchiolo. (31 Jan 2006). http://www.religioustolerance.org/abo_infe.htm)”. Hence the reason that a woman can be childless in the future for one mistake that she has done by ignorantly removing the first fetus of her womb, which causes her to damage a life time of can not be pregnant.

  20. Kadisha I must say that you have some compelling points and for a moment made me want to change my perspective towards abortion. However, I thought about it intensely and decide to hold on to my views. Nowadays, there are many contraceptives that can be used to prevent an unplanned pregnancy. In addition if a person does not feel mature or responsible enough he/she should act wisely and avoid engaging themselves in sexual activities or simply use protection when having sex. An abortion is an unjustified act for there are many ways of preventing such immoral actions. Am not saying that you are wrong, I respect your perception for I want others to respect mine.

  21. Kuo-Chen Lee I must applaud you for the points you brought across. Indeed women who abort their child may suffer trauma during and after the process of abortion in addition, she would also be exposing herself to other medical complications. An individual capable of aborting a child should take in consideration that they are destroying their relationship with God for He is our creator and the only one entitled to take away the life of a human being. Lastly they do affect the life of the baby for they denied that child the opportunity to live and to enjoy the many wonderful things of life. Good work Chen and I put my hands together for all those who are against abortion.

  23. I am strongly against Anti-abortion. reasons being due to the fact that in this world people has the right to free will and choice. It's the mothers body and she chooses whether or not she wants the child to live or not. In a house hold the parent decides what's best not the child. People in this world view abortion as an immoral concept that can also be classified as murder, but the outcome can always be better if aborted. "If a person's right to life is violated at the moment in which he is first conceived in his mother's womb, an indirect blow is struck also at the whole
moral order"(Paul II,October7,1979,Washington D.C). These words being conveyed he failed to realize what about the consequences if the baby were to be born and the mother will die. Should she let the child live and lose her life? I say you should live to see another day your life is just as much precious as the new born child. The main aspect is poverty you live in distress and a new born is on the way, the mother's know that the baby will just punish in living a miserable life. Even if adopted or taken to a foster care home the bond between mother and child will just let them stay together. In avoiding the child to live miserably and the outcome being hating the parents better not let it live at all.

  24. Well, on my own point of view I am against abortion. Abortion is when a pregnancy ends early without the birth of offspring. Abortions can occur naturally, usually because something went wrong with the pregnancy or the mother take the risk of just not having the baby because they are not prepare for a error of life that happen and they need to remove it inside of them. The Bible has several verses dealing with murder and abortion. Well, my life goes according to what god say in the bible. For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. The liberals put up many interesting and logical reasoning for having an abortion. Having this simple operation covers up some serious mistakes, gets rid of the responsibility and burden or raising a child. Abortion is the process in which the developing child is removed from a mother's womb. Keeping all situations and instances in mind, abortion was and still stays an act of violence against the unborn child as well as the woman about to have a baby, apart from being a moral crime in itself. Everyone can make their own decisions but, not with the life of somebody. We need the guidance and direction of God in our life to make decisions.

  25. I am trying to understand the point that Kadish was trying to bring across about Pro-Choice. You said that you decided to have an abortion because you did not felt responsible for a child and you would not be finish your education. To all the women who want to use that same excuse, I would tell them "Get a hold of you Lives. Do not wait until you are pregnant to make a choice". Why wait till then? Is it until then, that you realize that you wanted to finish your education? That you were not ready financially and emotionally?
Ladies, if you man does not want to protect you, then take the responsibility in your hands of protecting yourself. HAVE CHILDREN BY CHOICE NOT BY CHANCE.
Who are we to take away our own child's life? One of the the Commandments says "Thou shall not kill".

    ReplyDelete
  26. Khari your points made about having unprotected sex I am all for it because you know the consequences but tell me what about being sexually abused or raped for that matter. Should you still keep that child? The pro abortion video that was entitled to us by Sir. Tucker entails that being in such circumstances it is best to abort rather than having a child for an unknown father. You will take out your anger on the child and even more just giving away the child can lead the child in trauma and more or else being suicidal. The outcome might still be death. So best abort.

  27. This goes for kishana. Why say when aborting it's like you don't care about life? How about if your in the point of saving a life and that life is yours. Will god want you to live or die? Questions that cannot be answered so it is answered only by the mother herself. The choice you make should not be judged their is a reason for everything and so that means there is also a reason for aborting.

  28. Abortion is where a child is removed from a mother's womb. Keeping all situations in mind, abortion was and still stays an act of violence against the unborn child. The woman about to have a baby, apart from being a moral crime in itself. For many women, abortion is not an easy decision to make nor is it easy to deal with the emotions that come after. It is a decision made based on the individual and circumstance. Abortions resulting from rape and incest. But in my view I strongly disagree with abortion thinking about taking a potential human life is sick, especially thinking about taking a precious little babies life not giving him or her a chance to be some thing wonderful makes me sad to know sure things like this still exists women get killed by abortion because of some fetus problems, so what's the point of having abortion if you can kill yourself. Which choice is best to die or to raise the baby?

” Abortion is the process in which the developing child is removed from a mother's womb. Keeping all situations and instances in mind, abortion was and still stays an act of violence against the unborn child as well as the woman about to have a baby, apart from being a moral crime in itself”(Kerby Anderson,1997,para.1,3,10).

  29. The the women who have had an abortion before that same question that Kadisha said "What If". That child could have been the next Prime Minister of Belize, an attorney, a doctor, a teacher, or a dentist. I believe that every single one of us have a mission in this world. You have deprived that that child of achieving and reaching his or her dream or goal.
What if your mother had decided to have an abortion--you would not be here.
I might sound rash, but I would rather advise women to protect themselves. When they are ready for a child--then come off the contraceptives.
If many women would think before having un-protected sex there would be less abortions.

  30. I strongly agree with you Mr. Turton not just because we are friends!!! But to the fact that when people engage in sexually intercourse they don’t look at the possibility of becoming pregnant, and when that oops happen then they want to get ride of it. Well I agree say no against abortion.

  31. It is true that people have the freedom Miss. Gill but think about the baby doesn’t he or she deserve a chance to be somebody. Having sex is fun don’t get me wrong but sexual intercourse’s main purpose ethically and biblical is to perform for reproduction of human life. So how free can a person be that gives him or her rights to go against that?

  32. To Paula's statement. Everybody knows that not using some kind of contraceptive can put them in the risk of an unwanted pregnancy or an S.T.I. However, if an unwanted pregnacy does happen then who are we to judge that person for wanting to have an abortion? Most people make difficut decisions in their lives and many have made a few; be them right or wrong but, that does not mean that we need to always bombard them about the good and bad in all their life's choices. I mean you live and learn.

  33. I just want to applaud Kadisha for her openness with us about her abortion situation. You know your situation and the battles you went through. As you rightly quoted Boyd(2011) “Sometimes, wonders "what if..." but knows that it was the best decision at the time given her circumstances .

  34. To Kadisha Augustine, well I oppose to you comment because we know that everyone can make their own decisions. But one of the things we need to have in mind is to don’t kill a life, as the bible say,”you should not kill”, Exodus 20:18-21.God create children and we are noting to kill them. The only way I would say yes maybe to abortion if someone is being rape, abuse ,or other thing.First of all every one must know at they are doing with their life ,no one is being prepare to have a baby .This is a way of daily life situation.

  35. I agree with David Nal, is the termination of a pregnancy by the removal or expulsion of the fetus from the uterus. Because having an abortion is very hard, I don’t understand why mother need to pass by a lot of suffer, when they just need to wait 8-9 month to have a baby. Well and there are millions of abortion a year. Having sex can be preventing, and there are different ways to prevent, there are condoms, etc. Sometimes the person makes the error of not preventing and then they have to abort that is not a way to make abortion because of our own decision.

  36. Abortion means ending a pregnancy.I against abortion once is not spontaneous. In some cases, a woman’s pregnancy ends on its own which is called a miscarriage, or a spontaneous abortion.
When a woman chooses to end her pregnancy by taking medicine (called medical abortion)or having surgery (called surgical abortion).I consider it as murder. I considered this as murder because when the sperm hit the egg the woman is conceived, but by having abortion you are killing that living breathing baby that is growing inside you. The only way I see that an abortion should be even recognized, is if the baby and the mother are going to die during delivery or the woman life is at risk so we follow the rules of consequenctialism in ethics, because if the woman live she can still have many children than have one child and die.(Ann,n.d.).

  37. The topic abortion has many ways in which it can be viewed. In my point of view, abortion is something immoral because no one has the right to take someone’s life but God. This controversial topic has many reasons as to why it is wrong. Abortion can be seen as a murder because once a child is in the mother's womb, is a live creature. “Many religions consider abortion as a crime and punishment was deserved for such acts. (Freeda Poux, n.d).” Not only speaking with superstition is abortion immoral but also physically. Once a woman commits an abortion, it may cause complications in her future life. A woman after committing an abortion has a high probability that she won’t be able to give birth again. Another great issue related to abortion is cancer; a woman can get breast cancer. Abortion is not just a moral issue, it is a medical issue, and it is a health issue and but an emotional issue as well. Before having an abortion, a family should take the time to think what to do, and if this act is really what they need to do. Abortion causes many problems in the life of the parents of the unborn child. A child cannot be blamed of abortion because he/she is an innocent creature that has not been brought to life yet. Abortion should be terminated completely in the society.

  38. I totally agree with Edgar. Everyone can make decisions in their life, but not in other’s life. The reason for this is because many people thing that an unborn baby is not a human yet, but they are wrong. No one right to take away another human’s life but God.

  39. Beatrice, you had many good points as to why you are against abortion, like many. The most interesting point that I found out in your blog was the citation from the Pope. Abortion is immoral because no one can take the life of others, especially of innocent and dependable humans like and unborn child.

  40. I am for against abortion. I believe that I am unique and I had a purpose in this world before I was born. I think that this goes for everyone and that everyone deserve the chance to life. Life is the best gift that you could have recieved and for that there should be no other reason what so ever why some one should take that away from you. God, the giver of life said that you should not kill. this simply have one meaning. No matter the situation he will provide. dont take it in you hands and destroy a life.Sarah Dennish mentioned in the different challenges we go through everyday (2003) that there is no reason why an innocent child should not live! i totally agree with her.

  42. I like the comments that Kishana made about rape and unwanted pregnancy--abortion is not the only solution. There are organizations that can provide support.
"We counsel women who are going through difficult times. We have seen cases where women have been raped, have contracted an STI after they were sexually assaulted. We are here to help, especially women" (I.Humes, personal communication, November 16, 2010).
Another option could be adoption. You can give the child for adoption. I think many women are now doing that. There are many women, who would love to have a baby and cannot. These women are more than happy to welcome a child in their lives.

  43. With sex having become a non-issue in the sense that there is no big deal about it, cases of unwanted pregnancies have been coming up remarkably. In that case, the choice is to get an abortion. Many people are taking life for granted. I am so against abortion. The Bible clearly stated in Exodus 20:13, 'Thou shalt not kill." Killing is the taking of one's life. We are not suppose to take something we did not create. From the moment a female reproductive cell(ovum)is fertilized by a male reproductive cell(sperm), an embryo is formed which is a living organism in the early stages of its development(Birg&Rosler, 1968,p. E-151). The word "living" clearly explain that there is a life.

  44. Althea, Its understood that men out there will always try to be obsessed with something or someone that they have no given right to touch, and Yes its a great about abused or being raped, and yet pregnancy can happen from those incident. But we as human got to try understand that abortion can be a highly dangerous way to go, would u give up one child, that happen from such situation for not having any at all? its hard to say no, and may women in this world have kept such child after the fact of them being raped, and as i stated, woman have a high percentage chance of being infertile after having an abortion. NO WOMAN and i mean NONE would want to give up such risk of not having a child, and its ignorant for one to say that "HEY I DON'T WANT TO HAVE A CHILD", someday in this life she will see the beauty of that child in her life and teach her the proper way of living life.

If she was too young to have a baby, then she should have known that she was too young to have sex. many young people thinks that they are missing out on something if they are not having sex, but little do they know that when they have sex before marriage, they are depriving themselves of something wonderful and the respect that their husbands will have for them. There are reactions to all our actions, so by having unprotected sex, the possibility of getting pregnant to be considered.

  46. I agree with all that Paula Ack said. Everyone has a purpose in this life. God created us for a reason. He says that from before we were formed in the mother's womb he knew us and he knows the plans that he has for us. So with an abortion, we are going against God, our creator. Regardless of what the situation may be, abortion is not the way out. God created that child,he placed him or her in the mother's womb and He is able to take care of him or her and the mother. Children are a gift from the Lord so when any one gets an abortion, they are rejecting God's precious gift to man.

  47. Abortion..its a topic that has many different views. To some women, having an abortion might seem like the right thing to do at the moment but is it? Some women decide to have an abortion because there scared. There scared that they are not ready to have a baby in their lives and even more some are unsure on whether they will be able to carry out all the responsibilities of being a parent. In the heat of the moment they make a life changing decision before they are fully aware of the consequences of their actions.
I am against abortion. No matter what the reason of getting pregnant is not child should be terminated. They should not have to be punished because of someone else's bad deeds. Why should a child have to lose their life because of something they had nothing to do with?
The truth of the matter is that the child is not the only one that is affected by the decision to go through with an abortion. The woman will have to live with the fact that they terminated a child. No one can prepare them for the emotional baggage thats comes with having an abortion. Knowing that your the reason a child is not breathing is not easy to live with. everyone is different in their own special way, which means that no one can be sure how someone will react to having an abortion. For some women the emotional state of having an abortion is too over whelming and it may lead to permanent emotional damage.
Abortion is not an option. Instead of terminating a child forever all options should be discussed. Adoption is a choice that can be beneficial to both the mother and the baby. The mother can carry out her life knowing that she did something positive and productive for her baby and the baby will be able to keep its life.

  48. I agree with Paula Ack. We all have missions in life and we should not be deprived of those just because of the decisions of others. Its not right and its not fair to the child.

  49. About what Kadisha Augustine commented, if God forgive those who asks for forgiveness and the same thing happens again. Isn't that just plain taking advantage of God? It's like asking for forgiveness and doing going to do the same exact thing again.

  50. Esther I understand exactly what your saying. We can't control everything that happens. If there is a chance that both the mother and the child will be ok, an abortion should not be done. There are some cases however where by its a life and death situation. Then and only then i believe that it is ok to maybe consider having an abortion.

  51. I agree with you Kuo. If your going to ask for forgiveness and continue doing the same thing then trying to take advantage of God. If you ask for forgiveness and continue to do the same thing then you are not showing that you really want to be forgiven.

  52. I totally agree with what Carla says. Many people are just taking life for granted simply because abortion is available. Also, we need to think it's a life that we're taking. It should have its own right to live just as well as we choose ours.

  53. Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy by the removal or expulsion of a fetus or embryo from the uterus, resulting in or caused by its death. In my point of view, abortion is unacceptable and morally wrong. There is no human on earth with such authority to take anyone life but our heavenly father. There are many reasons why abortion is wrong because in any medical procedures sometime there are complications. “The most frequent problem is infections, tearing the lining of the uterus, blood loss-losing more that a pint is serious-and incomplete abortion, which means the doctor missed some of the tissue that was part of the pregnancy”(Ruth Bell,1981,p.206). Taking the fact that abortion deals with the physical part of the body we must also look at the emotional distress it causes. Commented by Ruth Bell (1981), “Some depression after abortion may be caused by the drop in your body’s hormones when the pregnancy is ended, especially if you were pretty far alone into the pregnancy. You may be feeling angry, guilty, sad, disappointed and vulnerable all at once” (p.211). From the mare fact that the child had been given to his/her mother by God, this means that a child has been brought on earth; he or she should be given a full chance to live a life, as God must have planned something for them.

  54. I then agree with Lawro, when a woman and a man have sexual intercourse with each other, and they are not protected they should know consequences, and not because they have the ability to do the process of abortion that means that they would take advantage of it. many men and women in this world are basically a mistake from there parents, because their parents did not plan to have them when they both was having sexual intercourse, but someone out of the above had to stand up and send a message across saying that he going to keep the baby. Hence the reason of this...many man and woman out there have become someone HIGH in power in this life because he or she did not get aborted, so you all who is against my point is telling me that a baby in a mothers womb those not have the ability to be somebody because of the mother ignorantly take him or her away from a wondrous world? COMMON BE REAL!

  55. I fully support and agree with Tichele argument because most women at that moment of being scared of the responsibilities may think that abortion is the easy way out. And moreover the woman may not want to face society if she is a teenage.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Today’s society is facing many social issues whereby, abortion is one of them. It hurts me to see or hear that a person abort a child. It seems that people do not have conscience and are irrational. I am against abortion because life begins from the time the sperm fuses with the ovary. Furthermore every person has a right to life; it does matter what is the circumstance.

According to Messerli (2010), “ When a pregnant women feels a kick in her belly, she doesn't say "Oh, the fetus kicked" or "Oh, the mass of cells that hasn't become a person kicked", she says "The baby kicked." Yes, after conception you have a real human being waiting to enter the world. Why should taking someone's life when they're in the womb be any different than taking their life when they're a baby in the crib? Pro-choice advocates claim this isn't a real baby only to justify their wrong acts in their own minds. Even if you don't believe abortion is murder, it still demeans the value of human life, since women can so callously stomp out a living being simply because they're inconvenienced” (para. 2).

  57. I highly conquer with David. From the time two individuals have sexual intercourse without protection, they should know what will be the outcome of that action. Many persons in the United States would be fortunate to have a child of their and will not want anything to happen to that child. Some of them even come to Belize to adapt a child. So why in the world a person would want to take the life on an innocent child who may better their life in the end.

  58. I must agree with Ms. Jones because it doesn’t matter what circumstances the parents is in; everyone is place on earth for a reason and taking it away is morally wrong. Life is the most precious resource.

  59. I’m against abortion. I believe that females that part-take in abortion are thinking of themselves and no one else. Abortion is a selfish act and should not be legal under any circumstances. Just as how you were given a fair chance at life others should be given also.
A child is a gift from God and should be treated that way. D’Silva (2010) noted that “If providence has given, it shall arrange for it too. Simply put, this means that a child has been brought on earth, he or she should be given a full chance to live a life, as God must have planned something for them” (abortion, p.64).

  60. Abortion is crime that is committed against women and society. Abortion does not only harm the fetus but also is damages the person that committed the abortion. One of the major causes of suicide by women is because they committed an abortion(Erika Bachiochi, 2005). That is why i am against abortion.

If abortion is killing the children and women the world will have no future. This is cause they are the future of the world.

  61. I am strongly against abortion it is immoral and conveys nothing but evil. There are many reasons so to commence with I must say: When aborting a child whatever being the circumstances the thought that is running through your mind must be murder. In No civilized society It is allowed for one human to intentionally harm or take the life of another human without punishment or severe consequences, and abortion is no different from that fact. Having unprotected sex is another if you are not prepared to bare a child then why allow yourself in those type of situations they are many methods of contraceptives but the people are too naive to see and abort. Abortion should not be used as another form of contraception this should be understood. Abortion occurs mostly by not thinking and just trying to get rid of the child and at that time the male partners are the one convincing or pressuring the girl to abort "Seventy-seven percent of anti-abortion leaders are men. 100% of them will never be pregnant"(Planned Parenthood advertisement). Females in this sort of situation fail to realize that all the risk and burden falls on them only. "If men who are fighting hit a pregnant woman and she gives birth prematurely but there is no serious injury, the offender must be fined whatever the woman's husband demands and the court allows. But if there is serious injury, you are to take life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise"(Exodus 21:22-25).This is simply expressing the fact if the unborn child is born prematurely their is still a penalty but if the child should die even unborn it is still conveyed as murder. Thus being an unborn child aborting it is still consider wrong through the eyes of the lord and society. This is what my thought about abortion portraits and I strongly stand firm in my own belief.

  62. i agree with nikita for being against abortion and having females who does it think of themselves. females should have the right to do what they feel with weather it have a negative or positive outcome. it makes no sense and is inhumane to bring a child into a world where she or he will not be raise with all the given standards. even if given up to foster care the child will always have a bad background.

  63. Khari the point made about having unprotected sex and knowing the outcome of it. I am all for it and yes from the time you develop the mind to know right from wrong you also have the mind to know what can occur after having unprotected sex. Aborting a child for your on foolish mistakes that is being plain selfish. Everything in this world happens for a reason so don't give up on that reason for having a child. The reason of you having the high possibility of jeopardizing your life in never to have a child again that is also an excellent reason why to avoid aborting. Kudos to you Khari.:)

  64. Personally, I am pro abortion until week 5 of pregnancy because the fetus does not have a beating and develop heart before. According to, Taylor et al.(1997),"Week 5 Brain is developing" (p.739). This means that the fetus is not considered a living thing before week 5 because it does not have the most important organ to be classified as living. If a person commits abortion at this time, that cannot be murder because it did not have any classification for a living human being, it was jus merely a mass of tissues. This is from a scientific point of view.

  65. Althea you points are quite exquisite but I must beg to differ. Even though you explain that a mother has the full control of her body and admits what stays in and what must or can stay out still just shows how naive you can get. Having selfish thoughts like those results in many dangerous ways. Also being unable to support the child financially their are many institutions that can be approached and they will gladly help you. They are many ways to help in these type of situations just note to self not to make abortion an option.

  66. I strongly agree with Kadisha because it is obvious that many young people are having unprotected sex. They are not stable enough to maintain a child most of them want to finish school so once your 18+ and you get an unplanned pregnancy you do what you have to do. No other human being should make any decision for you, mosst people just say that they are against abortion because its immoral, its murder etc but who defines what is immoral and moral? The argument of murder is poised between extremes for instance rape victims. Some quote the Bible but good also created a brain for each human being so each can think and make decisions for their own so who is any to make that decision for you.

  68. Well I’m against abortion. The reason for this is that abortion is wrong in the eyes of God. The Bible clearly prohibits taking the life of an innocent person and that the unborn child is human. I believe life begins at conception and I also know that abortion is not safe. According to the Bible in Genesis, it states and I quote “Whoever sheds man’s blood, by man his blood shall be shed, for in the image of God He made man.” Also in Exodus You shall not murder which is also one of the commandments. In Deuteronomy it is confirmed that Cursed is he who accepts a bribe to strike down an innocent person. There is also Proverbs 6:16-19 - There are six things which the LORD hates, yes, seven which are an abomination to Him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood. According to Alcorn and Randy. (1995). nowhere in the Bible does it say "Thou shalt not abort your children." Neither will you find specific words forbidding suicide, infanticide (killing newborn children) or same-sex marriages. Yet the Bible clearly teaches us that these things are wrong. Abortion is wrong in any situation.

The Bible teaches that human life is different from other types of life, because human beings are made in the very image of God,The Bible teaches that children are a blessing,The Bible teaches that the child in the womb is truly a human child, who even has a relationship with the Lord,Scripture repeatedly condemns the killing of the innocent and The Bible teaches that God is a God of justice". i toalyy agree

  71. The Bible says, "thou shalt not kill!"
How can someone take the life of another (Especially and unborn Zygote or fetus) and feels content about it?. Human life begins at conception. The development of this life may be ongoing for a little while but this little person is still fully alive and fully human. Once this little child is conceived then the Changed to the point that their own selfish needs are set aside. This would be the moral choice, the right choice.Reality however, is simple. Two people's actions brought about a little person that deserves the right to be born, the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness (Don't we all want that and should have a right to it?.

Abortion shouldn't be a woman's personal choice. I mean dont we as young women, men have a heart? I would argue that females who have undergone an abortion have infringed on the life of another human being in order to satisfy their own selfish needs. Life it self is not fair, mistakes happen but on the end of the day who is women/man enough to step up to his or her consequences despite the hardship ahead....Just know condoms are not 100% and also they are rubber and rubber can burst. We must be aware of these consequences when we are sexually active.

Having an abortion, simply means that Life will be a privilege only for a chosen few, the value of human life will be cheapened with people only having babies when it is convenient. (Wake up people!!!)

  73. I believe that abortion should not be a choice for individuals in society; abortion is the murder of an human being. Destroying an undeveloped baby, means your destroying gods creation agree with both juan and franiche, even though "abortion" is not mention in the Bible that still doesn’t give a unprepared mother the right to destroy a human being, something that is so precious and apart of society. The song "ABORTION IS MURDER" by P.O.D states that "there's nothing you can say or do to justify the fact that there's a living breathing baby inside of you”. These are powerful words expressing the fact that there is a living thing inside a females womb, waiting to be born and ready take a breath upon this earth for the first time. Abortion not only brings depression to women but it is also a lost because the world just lost a President, Lawyer, Doctor etc every twenty seconds.

  74. Colleen i oppose to you comment on Kadisha's comment...........Who says what is moral and immoral? The Bible proves such thing! Youths today indeed are engaging in sex at a very early age but they are old enough to understand what occurs when a egg and sperm is fertilized....Yes...(conception). They engage in unprotected sex therefore, "If they mek they bed hard, they fi sleep pan it!" We all are humans and we make mistakes but a wrong could never be justify as a right...How on earth? Abortion is never the way and it could never be right! So Colleen are you telling me that you would advise a teen at the age of 15 that if she doesn't want the pregenacy, that she should aborth it? lol...So basicaly this teen could have over 5 or more abortions during one year period? reiculous, our younsters need to be educated because Abortion is never the way!

  75. Althea i strongly disagree with you. We don't know the outcome of nobody's life...How can we just terminate a life because we think that we would have t give up that child for abortion? or send him/her to foster care. If any of our mother of chosen to abort us, we wouldn't have brilliant students to attend the University of Belize etc, let's think logically. Mother Teresa said “If we accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people to not kill each other? Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching its people to love, but to use any violence to get what they want.” We despise murderers because of the outrageous act they commit but mothers that take innocent breath are just like the murderers. We must relaise that each breath has the right to live, despite the circumstance...LET'S NOT ADVOCATE FOR MURDERERS!!!

  76. Reading some of the comments there are many points mention that captures my attention like for instance mentioned by Nadia were she notes that the Bible states "thou shall not kill" and also mentioned my Khari states "so you all who is against my point is telling me that a baby in a mothers womb those not have the ability to be somebody because of the mother ignorantly take him or her away from a wondrous world? COMMON BE REAL!" Yes in fact get real i believe that taking sides with Abortion is "COLD HEARTED" it's just the same as murder and it is believed by many others and myself that we all have the right to live. Not because the baby might just be at the stage of an embryo or fetus means it doesn't have feeling or life... it's growing form stage to stage just as how we our selves grow each day and if that wasn't the point with adults being the top stage of life i believe, correct me if i'm wrong, then it's best you would say leave a youth to die because he or she had not developed into a adult as yet.
Many times we hear the quote " Every bad situation happens for a better reason" hence the reason from the moment a woman becomes with child then that child has an important role to play in life in the future. As a matter of fact for a child to be brought forth it but be done in the process of sexual intercourse and for the minute this takes place and even better if done unprotected this must means that the mother can take responsibility for there actions as well they must take what comes along. It's just not right to take the life of an innocent child when it wasn't his or her fault.... I don't understand how a person would sleep knowing they have took a life. i just don't, but what i do know that person must be crazy insane and needs help!

  77. I am pro-abortion. This is based on the facts that in the past few years the increase in birth deformities or gene deformities has left many families with great responsibility. For instance, there are many children born with illnesses such as Skin cancer, where the child is constantly suffering from aches as well as skin eruption. This then limits the child’s capacity to live a normal and happy life. There is also the constant fear of every family of losing a love one at any one moment in time. The thought of deciding to terminate a young blossoming life from inside the womb is indeed a great weight on the shoulder of the parents BUT seeing a child endure a suffering life and eventually submitting to such death is far more painful than abortion. The scar of a life time outweighs the emotional, physical and mental suffering of a precious child (K. Mason, In-class lecture, February 1, 2011).

  78. Human beings cannot create life, we are created and have little control of the way our life plays out each day. Abortion can never be justify by anyone, simply because we cannot give that life, why take something we cannot give?? I am totally against abortion, we all have can make choices but we have to know our own limit at times. At the point of conception that very small organism has life, it can feel, and is aware of its environment. I have friends that had abortions that are not the same, it literally took a part of them and destroyed it. Abortion kills the person as much as it kill the child, we have no power to give life, thus we must never take it!

  79. I agree with kenny, abortions is pure evil, it cannot be justified by anyone. God would not allow someone to get pregnant if he didn't will it. The truth is that he controls everything that happens in our lives, a someone just got up one morning and was pregnant he was the one that willed it. We must not step in the place of God our try to do his job. Each person much have a chance to life, even those who are deformed, was born sick, or is mentally challenges. They are on the Earth so they must have some kind of purpose. We learn from everything around us, their is nothing insignificant. Abortion is man made that should tell us from the start that it is not good.

  80. Abortion- After viewing both perspectives of abortion, both had strong points but I must say I’m against this act. From my perspective abortion is a very disturbing procedure, killing an innocent source of life without that child having a say in the choice made. This act is wrong in life and religiously. As we know life begins at conception and in my opinion that is murder, because it is taking of human life.
Abortion is very common in our generation, and there are other ways and choices that people can choose other than abortion, for example: adoption, or giving your child to other family members to take care of. Abortion is mostly done because of financially unstable family structures that would have the child suffering when brought into this world, also violence in homes; mothers do not want their children being abused in any kind of way because it would leave them feeling guilty brings their child into this world. According to Lee (2010) “Intentionally killing an innocent person always is morally wrong” (P.1). This comes to show even if you think your doing better by not having the child. The consequences are wrong morally.

  82. Colleen I beg to differ on your comments where you say that until 5-weeks of pregnancy the fetus is not considered a living thing. You say that abortion at this time is not considered murder since it is just that a mass of tissues.
Internationally-known geneticists and biologists have testified that human life begins at conception. During Senate Judiciary Subcommittee hearings in April, 1981 two of the doctors testified.
Dr. H. Gordon, Chairman of the Department of Genetics at the Mayo Clinic "By all the criteria of modern molecular biology, life is present from the moment of conception." In that same hearing Dr. M. de Mere, a medical doctor and law professor at the University of Tennessee "The exact moment of the beginning of personhood and of the human body is at the moment of conception."
According to Dr. Jerome Lejeune known as "The Father of Modern Genetics" says "Human life begins at conception." He testified before the Louisiana Legislature's House Committee on the Administration of Criminal Justice (June 7, 1990).
Dr. Lejeune further explained that within three to seven days after fertilization we can determine if the new human being is a boy or a girl. Dr. Lejeune at no point referred to the fetus as a "blob of protoplasm."
I would further say that we never refer to that gift growing inside of us as a Fetus--we call them baby.

  83. Well after viewing both perspective of abortion, I chose to go against it for many reasons. People get pregnant in many cases; some didn’t plan it while others plan. Some females got raped and in the process of getting pregnant. I know a lot of teenage pregnancy is happening in our society but that doesn’t give us the right to kill that baby. From my point of view that’s murder. God Commandment was “thou shall not kill”. We all have morals some persons morals are guided by the faith of God some doesn’t really believe in it. Some people believe in aborting but did they ever think that their parents could have aborted them? Life as we teenagers says it “is hard” but from the fact that you are sexually active you got an idea of what could or could not happen. Even adults love having sex but they are not ready for a kid. They do abortion too. My point is everyone who is been conceived in his or her mother womb should be taken properly of and in nine months or less should see the world as it is.

  84. I don't believe in abortion in any case. Yes in some cases you'd want to think that abortion is the right think to do, but in essnce it's not MORAL; so i don't agree with it. Not even in cases of rape do u i believ in abortion. If your child asked you if he or she can kill someone for whatever reason it may be, you won't tell that child it's not a good idea but that's their choice ("Abortion: the choice that kills," 2010). So no!!!!! doing an abortion Is taking a life. The option of having an abortion should not be given. Aborting can result in you not ever being able to get pregnant again in some cases; hence making never have any children. Also, knowing you've took the life of an unborn child can lead you to feeling great guilt, displeasure, and it might even get unbearable to where you'r think about suicide. No one deserve such distress, and no child deserves to be aborted.

  85. I would say that i am a person that does not believe in having an abortion. Because i think it is something that is morally unacceptable. To decide to have the life of an innocent life be taken away just because, that child may not have been born as yet but it is still wrong for a woman to decide to kill that baby or fetus. Maybe i could understand if the doctor or doctors have detected something that is wrong with the baby that would cause it to punish if it was borne then to avoid him/her to punish then it could be ok for that mother to go ahead and have an abortion carried out. If a woman don't want a baby then she should made sure that she used preventative measures like using contraceptive to lower their chance of getting pregnant.Medoff, M. (2009). The Relationship Between State Abortion Policies and Abortion Providers. Gender Issues, 26(3/4), 224-237. doi:10.1007/s12147-009-9085-9. I just think that having an abortion is the wrong way of going about solving your problems.

  86. Abortion, can abortion be considered harmful to women? I am against abortion because it is a fact that abortion is very harmful to women. Either physically or psychologically it harms the women. Even though anesthesia is used in abortion, 97% of women stated it was painful for them (Stubblefield, et al. 1979, p. 489). These studies done by Phillip G. Stubblefield and his colleagues prove that women felt pain during abortion, and after that. However abortion doesn’t just harm at the moment of it being done. It also has long term effects like overzealous curettage, which can damage the lining of the uterus and even lead to permanent infertility (Nichols, 1993, p. 260). Abortion can also cause future miscarriage, this risk increases with each subsequent abortion (Levin, et al. 1980, p. 2495-2499).

I talked to one of my friends about abortion and she just told me “if a girl doesn’t want to get pregnant, then don’t open your legs” (J. Sibajas, personal communication, February 03, 2011). That is true what this girl said, if you are not planning to have a baby then don’t go into the lions mouth, because, the fact that it wasn’t planned doesn’t give you the right to be a murderer.

It’s just like looking at a 12 year old and deciding to take his life just because he has skin cancer or other disease. We cannot just do that, murder is considered a very serious crime and aborting is murdering. Abortion is like murdering someone in their sleep, when they are not aware of anything.

  93. i understand where linda is coming from but the people having abortion are not concerned wether or not the child is healthy or not, they just want to rid themselves of the burden all together. also i think the kids that comes to earth with sickness and stuff are simply a reminder to us that are healthy to be grateful for our situation. they do serve a purpose and i'm sure no matter how short and painful their life may be they brought joy to the mother and father who chose to keep them, if only for a short time.

  94. i saw someone posted a poem earlier...and i ran into another poem which i like, actually it was a spanish song... these are the lyrics... Hi mommy, how are you? Listen am that gift God gave you in your womb.
It’s been 2 months now, I’m waiting for the day to come,
when I will be able to hug you and kiss u mommy?
I’m just developing, my little feet and my little hands are beginning come out,
but I’m a little scared now, and I want it not to be true, what I’ve heard.
Yes I know last night you were crying mommy thinking about those stuff you and daddy were quarreling about.
Please tell me it’s not true. Please tell me you’re not going to kill me,
I haven’t hurt anyone, please tell me you’re going to help me and let me live.
I’m way too young to die, please tell me your going to let me born, and let me live.
Who knows, maybe I will grow to be a great architect,
    or maybe a doctor,
or, oh well maybe I will be the one to help you when I’m older.
You don’t even know if I will look like you when I’m born.
I just can’t understand, I’m a human being like you.
From the moment I came into your life I have life and I don’t want to see my mommy to become a murderer.
Please don’t look at me as a curse or an obstacle, instead let me born and give me in adoption.
    I’m God’s creation mommy;
I have all the right to be born just like daddy.
What are you going to do?
Listen to the voice of your son in your conscience, flesh of your flesh, blood of your blood, so innocent, why are you going to kill me?
You know mommy there are many women that would give anything to have me.
But not you mommy, you are paying a lot of money just to get rid of me.
I will die, I won’t even have the privilege to see the sun and the moon,
I won’t get to play with my toys and look at your smile,
I have a lot of dreams but you are killing them now,
my chance of living is going because of you,
but I still love you mommy, and I hope God will forgive you for this.

I also agreed with Khari saying a man and a woman knows that when they are engaging in sex that they should know the proper reason of doing such thing rather than just be freely doing so, because whatever you sow you shall reap. The result of sex is pregnant so you must not terminate it, once you cannot terminate sex you have sow definitely you will reap

  97. I also support Paula Ack comment about rape but i strongly disagreed with the word ‘’unwanted pregnancy’’ is there unwanted pregnancy? Yes rape can bring unwanted pregnancy but to me abortion is not the solution. The person can take the child to a motherless home if she cannot take good care of the child. For a married woman that is why there is family planning if the contraceptives fail that mean God want the child to come to the word, remember a child is a gift from God if you abort the pregnant that means you don’t what God gift.

Girl/ Women should take care of both themselves n that unborn lawer, doctor, teacher, prime minister or even if the child will grow up to be a drug addict; everone deserves a chance to experience life. it you who choose to have unprotected sex, so u should welcome whatever comes with it. Even if you were rape, hence you got pregnant, that child may just be your ultimate source of happiness, joy, sunshine when you think back on the pain you went through. Achild is a blessing that all should embrace, not destroy.

  100. Life from the moment of conception is sacred and untouchable. The zygote is a unique genetic package enjoying a specific human identity distinct from ether parents. Therefore abortion (taking the life of an unborn child is morally wrong and those who do this are in the camp of murderers. To kill an infant in any stage of development is killing a human being who is innocent of any crimes and does not deserve to be killed.AS Stevens(1997)stated"An innocent human being must be protected at all cost"(p.134).Killing adults is wrong because it deprives them of their future.and killing a fetus we are also depriving it of its future.

  102. Abortion, this very controversial topic has been one of the heated topic of debate globally, it has been debated in the past, it is still being debated now and with no doubt, it will still be debating tomorrow. I am pro- choice for abortion. Many people jump to say that abortion is morally wrong at the first instance they even hear someone utter the word, but have you ever stop to think why women get abortion?
Surely not every reason or excuse a woman might give is an exception for them to not have the baby and get an abortion. However there are some times where abortion should be an option for a female. Put yourself in a woman’s shoes, not just any woman, a woman who has been raped and abuse and is now pregnant, would you still want to keep that child? Meyer (2003) stated that “a woman who has been raped doesn’t need any justification from anyone whether or not to keep the child, the decision should be entirely up to the mother” (p. 96).
How do you feel about abortion now in this aspect or light? One may say that the mother should go through with the pregnancy and give the baby up for adoption, but, when a child is born there is a bond between mother and child that in some cases it is so strong that the mother ends up keeping the child and everyday when she sees the child she will remember what happened to her because the child is the walking evidence and reminder of it, and that my friends could be emotionally devastating.
Stephens (1994) mentioned “a mother should have the right to keep her child or not given the circumstances of the pregnancy was not a result of her actions” (p.12). So with that I leave you to think, leave you to think about what if you were raped by a close family member, a victim of incest, and the child is deformed, would you consider abortion? Or have the baby and have it suffer all its life until his/her demise? The decision would be up to you.

  103. I strongly to the the highest power disagree with what Coleen said. she said that before 5 weeks, the fetus is not a living thing because the brain is just developing. this may be true, it'['s not murder but you are still not giving an unborn the chance to come into this world. you are still AORTING a bundle of joy who may have become a high person in society. You are right when you asked the question, who decides what's moral or immoral. My answer to tha question is GOD'S TEACHINGS. The Bible is the most powerful book man can ever come across and it's teachings should be respected.

  105. Yes Nadia, I agree that pregnancy is the result of two people’s actions, but, how if the pregnancy is the result of ONE of those people? How if a woman such as yourself unfortunately gets rapped? That pregnancy is a direct result of the man and not the two of them, and in most cases, if not all, the woman isn’t ready for a baby.
Think about it, you presently at school, what if you unfortunately gets rapped and become pregnant, would you still want to have that child if you were given the legal option of keeping the baby or abort it?

    ReplyDelete
  106. Mr. Hymeon, being in a relationship or in a marriage with a spouse and the woman gets pregnant by their carelessness and abort the child, then we can look at it as being morally wrong. We still need to make abortion legal for some exceptions of pregnancy. Exceptions where the woman is not at fault, because of her being rapped by whomever, friend, stranger or family member, the woman shouldn’t be forced to take the burden of a child she didn’t brought upon herself.

    ReplyDelete
  108. I am against abortion because is very harmful to women. People are missing the point: abortion is murder. If it is considered by many, that the fetus is a living being, a separate entity. So it is a murder. So then, if a pregnancy occurs because of rape or because the best contraceptives fail, that life still deserves a chance to live. According to Exodus 20:13 “Thou shall not kill” (p. 65). Killing is murder because murder is the taking of one’s life, and abortion is the taking of a life.

I personally is against abortion. According to researchers it has proven that a woman who aborts a baby may go through psychological and physical suffering ( select a workable topic," n.d). IN addition the mother can become mentally ill and and feeling of guilt leaving others around her to suffer as well. For example in one study of 500 aborted women, researchers found that 50 percent expressed negative feelings, and up were classified as having developed " serious psychiatric complications."

  111. Personally,I am against abortion. All over the world everyday a developing child gets exterminate innocently. What loving mother would take a life of her infant who has their entire life in front of them? That furthermore leaves us to the question ‘what right do humans have to restrain the life of something that providence has created?’Moreover,To sustain the morals and to be free of any guilt of killing an innocent child I believe that abortion should not be legalized because abortion can bring about many medical complication to women who undergo abortion.Godbole(2010)stated that,"abortion can lead to problems in life as after all you are tampering with your body and obstructing the natural course of happenings. Some complications of abortion are it damages the woman's reproductive system, increases the rate of miscarriages, and increases the risk of having cancer."According to Reardon(2009),"among these complications are perforated uteri, injury to the bladder or bowel, increased risk of breast cancer, increased risk of ectopic pregnancy, infection, hemorrhaging, a lacerated cervix, problems due to RH incompatibility, an increased chance of placenta previa during subsequent pregnancies, retained products of conception, and, in extreme cases, sterility."Always give a second thought before taking this crucial decision. It’s worth mention that abortion is highly unethical if you repeatedly take the life of a fetus due to unprotected sex and just for the sake of convenience.

  112. Ms. Waniki i do agree with u that there are other solutions other than abortion.According to Reardon(2010),"Always give a second thought before taking this crucial decision. 113. Mr.Kevin I do agree with you and Mr.Hymeon that,"being in a relationship or in a marriage with a spouse and the woman gets pregnant by their carelessness and abort the child, then we can look at it as being morally wrong." However,by you giving the exception that a rape victim should abort their child I believe that is still wrong. In addition, in the instance of rape and incest abortion punishes the unborn child who committed no crime abruptly ending the life of an innocent human being who had no say in the actions being performed. Instead it should be the perpetrator who should be punished, not the unborn child! Since when did getting an abortion bring healing to victim of rape? Is getting an abortion going to make the victim forget what happened? Furthermore, there are options for those who don’t want or can’t support a baby as for example giving the child up for adoption where the child can live a life which God has made for them. Therefore, the millions of families all over the world wanting to adopt a child, there is no such thing as an unwanted child.

  121. 120 comments!!!!Abortion Abortion Abortion. The struggle over the abortion issue has been long and hard. I am pro-life which makes me against abortion. Abortion is something horrible that is done to a child thats does not know what is happening. It damages a female both mentally and physically. Hughes and Dhar (2000) mentions that, "Abortion is a brutal procedure where someone tears an innocent growing fetus out of its biological home in the mother's womb, thus leading to the bloody death of the unborn child"(p.5). I believe that rape and incest are both horrible crimes and should be punished, but I don't believe that a child conceived from either should be killed. Also abortion is encouraging irresponsible behavior. Having the child will allow the parents to take full responsibility of their actions. Aborting the child will only allow them freedom to have unsafe sex and getting rid of their responsibilities easily.

  122. I agree with Lawro it is against morals to decide that a child should die especially an unborne child. Never giving him or her the chance at life or becoming a productive individual to society. So no good reason is good enough for a woman to give for having something that is so wrong and inhumane to do."The cause of all our personal problems and nearly all the problems of the world can be summed up in a single sentence: Human life is very deep, and our modern dominant lifestyle is not".(Bo Lozoff)

  127. I disagree with you Steven because there are other things that could have been done with the child besides abortion. The child could have been given up for adoption either an open one where she can still see the child,or a close one where they do not allow the child to know who is their parents . Since she knew she was not ready for a child and could not have maintain the child then she should have abstain or used contraceptives.

  129. I personally think that abortion is biblically and morally wrong, and I am against it. Everyone has the right to live; therefore, no one should pretend to be like God and determine whether or not one have the right to live. According to D’Silva (2009) “Another moral argument put across as a reason against abortion is yet again a phrase instilled into humankind since time incarnate - If providence has given, it shall arrange for it too. Simply put, this means that a child has been brought on earth, he or she should be given a full chance to live a life, as God must have planned something for them”. If everyone was given this choice, many of us today wouldn’t have been alive. Abortion is murder because it kills a living human being, because the fetus is able to feel pain. Aborting a baby can lead to psychological and physical problems. One might even want to kill herself, because they later realize what they have done is wrong. It can also allow the mother to not reproduce in the future. It blocks the fallopian tubes, weakens the cervix and also it scars the uterine.

I strongly agree with Julie Arzu and her statement " Everyone has the right to live; therefore, no one should pretend to be like God and determine whether or not one have the right to live." it is true that no one has the right to take away a life. Also carrying a child is a long and painful process and the women or child should not have to suffer for crimes that were committed against her. In my personal opinion this should be the only time that it alright for a women to have an abortion.

    ReplyDelete
  135. In my personal opinion I am against abortion in all aspects but one. Do you believe that murder is alright? If not then you do not believe in abortion either. A babies heart forms and starts beating in the fifth week of pregnancy, so, that makes abortion murder of a child that is less than 5 weeks old. The baby growing inside of you is depending on you to bring them into this world. When you make the choice to end that life, you are making the choice to murder another person, who at this point has absolutely no choice in the matter. It’s your responsibility to protect their life. Imagine you yourself had been aborted you wouldn’t have been living this life nor even existed in this world. Some people that believe in the pro-choice theory would say that the decision is up to the woman, but the person with the pro-life theory would say that it is murder no matter what the situation. The only reason that someone should have the option to have an abortion is if the child was conceived during a rape incident that a valid/legal report was made to the police. I understand that in today age rape, in one form or another, is common. The police in our society Belize need to find a way and enforce a law to stop this. I believe that if a women is raped, meaning had sex with someone who forced them, by physical force, and this women has went to the police department to file a report after the rape, then when the women finds out she has became pregnant 4 weeks later she should have the option of abortion.

    ReplyDelete
  136. I’m totally against abortion simply because if a woman is old enough to engage themselves in sexual relationships then why can’t they be woman enough to raise their child in whatever circumstance it may be. Abortion is wrong for reasons beyond God's laws and moral obligation. The greatest anti abortion argument involves the topic of murder. (1996) Abortion is wrong. Whether it may be that they are on their own or with their baby’s father. They are many forms of protection, Condoms & contraceptive. So there is not an excuse as to why one should do an abortion. If a woman decide that they are not mature enough to raise a child then I’m sure there are not mature enough to be having sex or at least protect yourself. I just think some women are plain “selfish”, they end up doing an abortion because they feel like it will hold them back from doing a lot of things which in that case it think is unfair to the unborn child to pay for a stupidity their mother committed. I got pregnant when I was 19 years old and I’m raising my child, I’m not alone but I’m still doing it. I gave up school for awhile and all my parties and friends. I decided to change my life for her and it was for the best. The only reason I would think that abortion is acceptable is when a woman gets rape because I don’t see how that woman would be able to raise that child knowing what she went through. This is just my opinion! The cons of abortion are great and uncountable and women and families should think twice, thrice, forever before affirming to an abortion. (By Roy D'Silva).

  137. I agree 100% with what Kuo had said. I'm against abortion and its sad to know how women would choose that instead of keeping up with their responsibilities. but then again to each his own, we are no one to judge. in the end they are the ones living with the guilt in their hearts.

  138. I disagree with Kadisha, while we empathize with her position and appreciate her frankness, engaging in unprotected sex is a very serious issue and can have very serious implications. If one is old enough to make the decision to have sex, then one should be wise enough to decide that the sexual activity must be protected. In the final analysis it was a learning process, clearly, Kadisha learned from the experience.

    ReplyDelete
  139. I agree with Paula with regards to the responsibility that goes along with sexual activity, but not all sexual activity are voluntary. Therefore, in the case where the woman is placed in the position where she can neither agree nor disagree and results in a pregnancy, then it would be a little harsh to expect that person to bring forth that child as this can be a daily reminder of the ordeal.

    ReplyDelete
  140. I consider abortion as a selfish act. Babies depend on their mothers to live, in all the stages of life. There is an ethical theory "divine command" that supports my view that everything happens for a reason, whether we like it or not. Pregnancy is one of those tings that we cannot eliminate because it evolves the life of another and not the life of ourselves. Selfishness evolves from the caring of ourselves and not of other persons' well-being. It is the caring thing to do,to give a child the opportunity to life despite illness, tragedy, or unpreparedness.

  142. PRO-CHOICE
As long as there are unplanned and unwanted pregnancies, abortion will be a fact of life. Abortion vary widely and are determined by a variety of socioeconomic, legal, and cultural factors. Therefore women should have the right to choose whether or not they want to have a baby.
There are many instances where a woman is entitled to have an abortion. Raped women should not be made to have the baby as they did not choose to get pregnant and would be constantly reminded of their ordeal as the child grows up. If a baby is severely handicapped, only the mother can decide if she can look after the baby. In the case of under-age pregnancy, the girl may not have really understood what she was doing, and should not lose her education and career opportunities over one mistake.(Lowen,L.(n.d).Ten arguments for abortion and against abortion. Retrieved from http://womensissues.about.com/od/reproductiverights/a/AbortionArgumen.htm)
At the time when Abortion is still a choice the Fetus is still not considered a human being, so technically you are not killing life.Early embryonic forms do not share same commonalities that define us as human beings, for example, zygotes and blastocysts are barely visible to the naked eye and have no bodies, brains, skeleton, or internal organs. Are they materially substantial enough to count as human beings? Fetuses cannot breath or make sounds, and they cannot see or be seen (except by shadowy ultrasound). They absorb nourishment and expel waste via an umbilical cord and placenta, not via a mouth and anus as do all other human beings."Also the church allowed abortion before quickening until 1869.(Arthur,J.(2001 August).Personhood: Is a Fetus a Human Being? 144. concerning what stanley mbah is saying, even though abortion may be seen as selfish to some, isn't it more selfish to have a child when you do not have the means to maintain it? you would be intentionally subjecting that child to a less than healthy and/or pleasant lifestyle. in my opinion, that is more selfish than any abortion can be. also, in another sense, what if the child is the product of rape? the mother may take the hatred of her experience out on the child. Now what’s worse? Neglecting a child and treating it to an unpleasant environment? Or not having the child at all…sparing it from a life of struggle and disregard. I choose the latter.

  145. i agree with what Alexandria Denise is saying. during the time in which abortion can be done, the fetus is indeed not considered a human being. it is yet just a blob of tissue. so those who say that abortion is murder cannot be entirely accurate. to add to what she says, the fetus actually resides inside the female body. to be classified as fully human, one must be separate individuals (Arthur, 2001). also, the fetus cannot live outside the womb under or at 21 weeks. however, because of the recent "partial birth" ruling, abortions are allowed only within the first 12 weeks: way before the the fetus can actually be viable outside the womb. therefore, through abortion, one is not killing another "human being". The fetus is not a human being...not during the month time span in which an abortion can occur.

  146. From the first time i began learning about argumentation in high school and the topic of Pro-choice or Pro-life came up, i knew i was pro-choice. after all, it's your body. you should be able to do what you please with it. it's not like you can control much else anyway. i'm not saying, however, that it's cool for anyone to just have abortions for any old, petty reason. but say you are involved in an unpleasant situation, for instance, pregnancy through rape, who's to tell you how to deal with something that will affect you for the rest of your life? How can one push to ban abortion when there are cases like those? Women everyday are taken advantage of and abused. The US Department of Justice has stated in their post titled 'American Rape Statistics', that in America, a woman is raped every two minutes. About 5% of these rapes end up in pregnancy. Now, America may not be the entire world, but it sure counts as a huge sample. So then, what are we to do? Force these women to birth these children? Even though they were not products of love, they were not asked for, or to say the very least, planned? No. That’s outrageous to ask of a human being. Already scarred from the trauma of rape and now they should have this child? Reminding them everyday of their violent, terrible ordeal? No. Who is anyone to demand that of a person? Having this child could cause further emotional harm to the victim. As Frederica Mathewes-Green (1992) quoted in the 'Evangelical Catholic', "No woman wants an abortion as she wants an ice cream cone or a Porsche. She wants an abortion as an animal caught in a trap wants to gnaw off its own leg." And I couldn't agree more. I find the issue of rape to be the most important pro choice reasons is that rape or incest is traumatic for a woman.

Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy by the removal or expulsion of a fetus or embryo from the uterus, resulting in or caused by its death simply killing a human being. When woman undergo abortion it have a significant effect on her life these effects are physical as well as emotional. A female womb can be damaged when they abort a child.
Also in Belize the subject of abortion has for the longest been an extremely controversial one and many people, especially here in Belize, have for the most part seemed content with just sweeping it under the rug. This is an issue, however, which not only affects women but in fact life on a whole and sooner rather than later, we will have to bring this subject to light. (G.Michael.Reid, News reporter, March 13, 1998).

Why put you and your child through a hard time if you could prevent it. I disagree with her position simply saying that it depends on the situation the mother and father will be in but at the same time they have to take into consideration that when u have fun u have also think about the good and th bad before u proceed. so being in that situation has nothing to do with the state the parents are in simply the mistake they make which can also be a learning experience

Not everyone knows exactly when they become pregnant. By the time they realize and know that they are pregnant for a fact, that fetus has already developed human characteristics. At the end of the first month, a primitive heart and digestive system have already developed (Zastrow, 2003,p.26).

  156. I totally agree with what Khari Turton had to say not only about teenagers engaging in unprotected sex but also the other fact that due to these horrific methods of abortion many women suffer the consequences in their later life when they decide to become mothers. Lately, I have observed that many women throughout the society desire a child when the mere fact is that they can’t because of the things they did in the past. It is being proved more and more by researchers that the procedure of abortion can be linked to many other problems apart from infertility including cervical and breast cancer. I am glad that this information is being passed on to many viewers and I just hope the message starts getting across.

  157. Althea, I must admit that your points are valid; however, I must also let you know that a child can change everything in a woman’s life. No matter how bad the situation is, only a heartless mother wouldn’t care for her child when she holds him/her in her arms. If a mother to be really cares for her child trust me, she will do anything to come out of whatever situation there is. In life, if everyone would actually try a little harder, there wouldn’t be poor people because God intended the world to be full of one’s necessities which is basically food, water and shelter. Lastly, there are a lot of kind people throughout the world who are always more than willing to give a helping hand; hence, abortion isn’t the way out!!!

  158. We are all humans and the way in which we deal with our individual problems jeopardizes our character to others. Should we submit to the judgmental believes of those who say abortion is with all respect a sin or morally wrong. In my opinion as abortion is a form of our own individual decision making. Deshawn Ellis said it best its Pro-choice, we can never justify our actions as human beings but does that mean we should suffer in silence. Many people today feel they have to submit to an image of perfection, regardless of their capability to care, provide and shelter a new born baby. The reason for having an abortion may not be justified but if I had a child from the product of rape or incest, should I let that child suffer from gene mutation or fuel my anger as a figure of constant reminder of what I suffered? It’s never going to be a right choice but it’s what’s best for right now!

    ReplyDelete
  159. I am against abortion. Unborn babies are innocent human beings from the moment of conception. They have a fundamental right to life, which must be protected. The Sixth Commandment of the Bible's Old Testament (Exodus 20:13) is "Thou shall not kill." Abortion involves killing a human being and defies a commandment from God. I believe that fetuses also feel pain during abortion. According to Kanwaljeet, J. S. (2006) “If the fetus is beyond 20 weeks of gestation, I would assume that there will be pain caused to the fetus. And I believe it will be severe and excruciating pain” (p.24).

  161. I totally agree with Steven as he stated in his blog that "Abortion is very common in our generation, and there are other ways and choices that people can choose other than abortion, for example: adoption, or giving your child to other family members to take care of. Abortion is mostly done because of financially unstable family structures that would have the child suffering when brought into this world, also violence in homes; mothers do not want their children being abused in any kind of way because it would leave them feeling guilty brings their child into this world."

    ReplyDelete
  162. I personally believe that abortion is a "no no"; under no circumstances should a mother abort a childh for she is not only committing a sin but is considered a murderer. As mother Teresa once said "The greatest destroyer of peace today is abortion, because it is a war against the child, a direct killing of the innocent child, murder by the mother herself. And if we can accept that a mother can kill her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another? By abortion the Mother does not learn to love, but kills her own child to solve her problems. And, by abortion, that father is told that he does not have to take any responsibilty at all for the child he has brought into the world. The father is likely to put other women to the same trouble. So abortion leads to more abortion.Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching its people to love, but to use violence to get what they want. That is why the greatest destroyer of love and peace is abortion"

  163. The topic abortion is viewed in many ways. Abortion is where a child is removed from a mother's womb. I believe that females that part-take in abortion are thinking of themselves and no one else. In my point of view, abortion is something immoral because no one has the right to take someone’s life but God. Abortion can be seen as a murder because once a child is in the mother's womb, it’s already a human being. For many females, abortion is not an easy decision to make nor is it easy to deal with after. Most of the time females abort their babies because of: school, parents, rape or there are just not ready for a child. Marcy. (2006, Nov). “Human life begins at conception, the point at which the father's sperm meets the mother's egg and fuses to create a genetically new and genetically complete human being.” http://www.blurtit.com/who.php?username=Marsy

  167. I strongly hold the position against abortion as I believe God is the supreme ruler where life is concerned. He is the creator who gave us life and should be the only one with authority to take it away. Excuses such as rape, underage, and lack of finance are little hurdles when compared to an innocent life being taken away. I think and ask my self what if I was the one being aborted, all I have worked for in my 19 years of living and all that plan which god has for me would have never came to past. Everyone has a fair chance to life, we were not all born with sliver spoons in our mouths. Regardless of our situations, with God all things are possible. God being the supreme ruler gave his commandment, according to Exodus 20:13 “thou shall not kill” (King James Version, 1998, p.122). therefore, it is only right for us to follow this commandment.

  176. Abortion has been a controversial topic throughout the world for many years; moreover, I am against it. I think it simply means taking away the life of a human, an innocent child. “No civilized society permits one human to intentionally harm or take the life of another human without punishment, and abortion is no different” (L. Lowen, n.d). Personally, all women who abort feel guilty at some point in their lives because a child is always a blessing and because it is a moral sin according to one of the commandments, thou shall not kill. I have seen in many cases that even single mothers are happy with their children because of the joy they create in the homes and regret even the thought they once had to face of deciding whether or not to keep the child. It is often seen that the ones practicing abortion are young teenagers who go into these clinics unaware of the risks and aftermath like the possibility of never being able to have another child again or it has been proved that breast cancer can be linked to abortion. They just do it anyway for them to have a “better life”. In today’s world and even in the past years, contraceptives have existed giving women methods to choose from to avoid pregnancy yet they don’t think and instead they choose to go through the painful procedure of abortion. I cannot decide whether abortion is an unforgivable event but I am aware that it is an unforgettable one. “There are a lot of arguments against abortion that proves it is not only a moral sin, but can also create great problems to the woman and the family. The cons of abortion are great and uncountable and women and families should think twice, thrice, forever before affirming to an abortion” (R, D’Silva, n.d). Lastly, millions of women throughout the time have had abortions making it a universal female experience and everyone has their personal and unique opinion on the matter; nevertheless, we should all be more careful of the actions we take to make the world more stress free of problems like these and remember it’s not a choice, it’s a child!

  177. Although abortion is the term that refers to the termination of a fetus or embryo, i am for abortion. Some abortions are induced to preserve the life of the gravida, which is described as therapeutic abortion. A gravida is a pregnant female. Furthermore, some women use this type of abortion to terminate pregnancies that would result in a child born with a congenital disorder that would be fatal or associated with significant morbidity.

Abortion in some countries are against the law, however, for some women the decision of having an abortion is a matter of life and death. Very seldom are fatal complications seen in baring a child so abortions are mandatory. In cases like these abortion should be accepted an not sterotyped as killing a innocent child.

Moreover this type of abortion is performed to selectively reduce the number of fetuses to lessen health risks associated with multiple pregnancies.

  178. I AM AGAINST ABORTIO.You all need to get a clue. We ALL have the choice before we ever even have sex. If we're not ready to live up to the responsibility to have children we shouldn't be having sex unprotected. That being said, even with protection there is a chance of becoming pregnant. Still, if you are mature and responsible enough to have sex you need to be willing to live with the consequences. The child shouldn't have to suffer for your stupidity. In the case of rape, I would make an exception, but for all of you out there who just have sex with anyone and everyone and then think it's okay to just kill the child because you're too immature and selfish to live up to your responsibilities...I have no sympathy for you. It's completely irresponsible and stupid. There are plenty of us out here who aren't able to have children and would die for a child. Then we have ones who can get pregnant with the drop of a hat and then abort it. How completely selfish! If you're not ready for the consequences...you need to be the adult and do the right thing.

  179. I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE THIS POEM THAT I FOUND. The Baby's Cry
    By Tanya LeBlanc

It's early still, the month is one,
And my life has just begun.
I'm so small, don't have to hide,
I'm but a seed growing inside.
Four weeks later, the month is two,
I'm still small but a part of you.
You'll love me a lot, wait and see,
You'll be proud as proud can be.
Time has passed, the month is three,
Now, I'm someone you can see.
My hair is black, and my eyes are brown,
I'll be fun to have around.
Now, I'm gone, the month is five,
Mommy killed me, I'm no longer alive.
Abortion is the name they gave it,
They take your life before you live it.
I wanted to be born, the month is six,
But it's already done, it can't be fixed.
I guess my mommy didn't love me,
She went and just threw me away.
    She'll never forget me,
Forever in her heart is where I'll stay.
I have a new home now, the month is seven,
    Congratulations, Mommy,
    Guess what, I'm in Heaven.
Mommy still carries around a frown,
Cause I'm in her memory, but not around.
You would have loved me, the month is eight,
But guess what, Mommy, it's too late.
    Murdered by my mommy's hand,
I guess I'm too young to understand.
Goodbye, Mommy, the month is nine,
I could've been born, doing just fine.
Although I'm here in Heaven, I still cry,
Because of my mommy, I had to die.
Mommy, mommy, the year is one,
And my life could've just begun.
Mommy now the days have gone by, it's year two,
And I can almost tie my shoe.
    Soon, I'll be three,
And you would've been too busy to mess with me.
A long time has passed, and the year is nine,
I would've been happy down there with you all mine.
Now look, Mom, it's year 18,
Oh how the time has passed,
    I've become a woman,
And I wouldn't have been able to last.
Well, goodbye Mommy, it's time to go,
I love you, I guess you should know.
But Mommy I see and I know,
That always and forever in you heart I'll grow.
Forever in your memory I've stayed,
And I see now that you've paid.

i dont think she wont know.GOD says to love our children. titus 2:4 says young woman should be taught to love their children. but an unborn baby is a "child" and a woman who has conceived is a mother even before the baby is born. one of the 10 commadments is not to killor murder. and aborting a baby no matter how many weeks it have it still a child or a baby. you are killing him and what you say about God saying is good in the bible its completly wrong abortion is wrong and should not be allowed you dont want a baby dont have sex or give it for adoption.

  182. Abortion(1)
The discussion for or against abortion has evoked deep sentiments over the years and there is no indication that it will cease anytime soon. At times the discussion/debate takes the form of prolife vs. pro-choice, yet on other occasions it is either for or against abortion. My personal preference is the pro-life vs. pro-choice discussion.
Ideally, one should never be forced into a situation to decide between life and freedom of choice, unfortunately neither the world nor life is ideal. Personally I consider myself as a fanatical pro-life advocate; this means that I have a propensity to gravitate towards decisions to support life. In the same token I must hasten to mention that some pro-choice arguments are rather compelling. The argument in favour of choice to have a baby as a result a rape is a compelling argument; a woman should be afforded the opportunity to decide whether or not to have the baby. Equally compelling is the argument that a woman with a medical history indicating that her life will be endangered in giving birth. Both aforementioned cases would logically need to favour life; unfortunately the decision would be at the expense of another life. Suddenly the pro-life argument finds itself on unstable grounds. In such a dilemma, morality must be called upon to point us in the right direction, and apply the utilitarian principle.

    ReplyDelete
  183. Abortion(2)contn'd
Morality has some limitations as it can conflict with the term “thou shall not kill” Romans 13:9. In the final analysis my take on the matter is that the decision for life is reserved for God, and whenever such a situation presents itself it is instructive that us mortals decide in favour of life.
For those of you, who remain uncertain about your position on the pro-life vs. pro-choice dilemma, the question is what does the bible has to say about abortion? “So the Bible's position on abortion, like its position on so many other issues, can be described as extremely ambiguous. It treats the death of a fetus as a non-homicide and makes no attempt to punish women who have abortions, nor does it mention the widely-practiced abortion that was contemporaneous to the period during which the relevant texts were written. On the other hand, it does not suggest or imply that personhood begins at the moment of birth. This is why the Judeo-Christian tradition has long struggled with the question of abortion. A theological approach to abortion, if it is to be found at all, cannot explicitly be found in the text of the Bible.” (Head, T, What does the bible say about abortion? http://civilliberty.about.com/od/abortion/f/bible_abortion.htm, visited February 4th 2011).

In my point of view, abortion is something immoral/ unethical because no one has the right to take someone’s life but God. Abortion can be seen as a murder because once a child is in the mother's womb, it’s already a human being. We all have a right to live. I have heard stories of women who have been raped and still they kept their child.. and they never regret anything that had happened to them, indeed they are most greatful to their children.

According to What Are the Effects of Abortion?
on http://www.wisegeek.com, Understanding the effects of abortion allows women to make informed choices. There are strong arguments for and against this procedure, and people on both sides of this issue may frequently hold up one or two of the effects as a reason for or against having an abortion. What is most important is that effects be neither aggrandized nor minimized. It is important for anyone who faces this decision to understand effects clear of taint of a political position.

  192. Life is a wonderful gift that can noly be given by God. Some women are blessed and are able to have whatever amount of children thery desire. While onl the other hand they are those who long for the extra ordinary experience of giving birth and raising a child and connot produce but one. I have reasearched and found may effects caused by abortion both to the mother, father, society and the future of the unborn child. I am not for abortion.

It is in the commandandments that tho shall not kill. For example if you would give a gun to a young lady and tell her to shoot someone she does not like more than likely she would say I will not sin my soul and do that. That person is not worth my soul, but isn't having an abortion the same thing as shooting that person dead? Yes! They both end the lives of living beings.

Secondly, they are many effects both spiritually and physically associated with abortion.
When an abortion is performed on a woman, she becomes subject to many physical complications. Blood loss during the procedure causes diversion of blood flow to various organs and can result in shock. When the canal of the cervix is dilated, the insides of the uterus, fallopian tubes, and the abdominal cavity are exposed to invasion by bacteria. Abdominal infection can cause peritonitis and abscess formation. Severe hemorrhage often follows an abortion. Instruments can perforate the uterus causing injury, infection, and bleeding to internal organs. Endres (2010). These children did not give to themselves but were deveoped form the actions of their parents. Therefore parents should take responsibility for their actions.
